Since 2003, many artists and headliners came even back to the House for this festival like no other, perhaps the most unlikely but surely the most wonderful. How indeed imagine a music festival taking place in the middle of a children's home, hosting more than 18,000 people in 2009, with Yannick Noah each year as a sponsor and headliner? Anyone with such a preposterous idea would be difficult to be taken seriously, and yet ...
If this festival so unique is that all persons present on the site, infrastructure, backstage, all came within a single goal, helping House to save 200 lives a year by welcoming children would be condemned without our intervention. They stay an average of three months for pre and post operative stay before returning to their countries where hospital conditions would fail to heal but where they are monitored by staff from our offices there.
Organized by the association Terre des hommes which manages the House, the festival generated in 2009 375'000.- CHF (€ 250'000) of net profit amount directly and fully utilized for the operation of the House
Organization of La Maison of Terre des hommes
From a legal perspective, Terre des hommes is an association independent of any other organization whatsoever. It was created in 1963.
Terre des hommes welcomes children at The House, home of children hospital located in Massongex in Valais. Historically, these children are entrusted to it by the Earth Foundation in Lausanne men, present and active in thirty developing countries.
Independent, the association should find itself the necessary financial means to operate "La Maison", the funds obtained being in almost all private.
The funds raised by Terre des hommes are restricted to fund support pre and post operative of the children entrusted to him.
